Ways to Detox Your System: Ever Hear the Expression, "Clear Your Head"? Ever Do It?
When you think to detox your system, you probably don't think of an ear detox, a nose detox, or a mouth detox. Yet these are some of my favorite detox methods. They aren't necessarily ways to eliminate a chronic illness, but they each have very noticeable and positive benefits in their own right. Here are the ways to detox your system by ears, nose, and mouth. 1. Ear Candling. This is a method of ear wax removal and it also removes many other toxins that might have accumulated in your ears. Many people don't need this and never will because their ears do a great job at getting rid of wax. Other people, like me (this is correct grammar, in case you're checking), my mom, and my grandfather have a large amount of ear wax buildup, and need ear coning (another name for candling). Anyhow, ear candling is controversial because it involves sticking an ear candle in your ear, lighting the end and letting it burn toward the ear. When you are done, you can see gobs of wax that came out of your ear. Read more about the ear candling process and why I absolutely love it by clicking here. Okay, so the last one wasn't exactly the scientific name, but it gives you a good idea of what it is. This is a super simple process to detox your system that you can do right now for free (except for the cost of a few handfuls of lukewarm water, which might run $0.00037). Believe it or not, Gandhi believed highly in this method, and wrote about it in his health book, "Key to Health." I'm not just passing on this information, I invented it. Actually, I did hear the recommendation from someone in a home remedies book that if you are sick, you should throw out your toothbrush, because bacteria collects on it. I really liked this idea, but I thought, instead of throwing out your toothbrush, why not clean it with soap. Therefore, before I brush my teeth, I wash the brush with soap (liquid soap from a pump) and rinse it thoroughly. And now I do this every day, not just when I am sick. In the 2 years I've done it, I haven't been sick almost at all. It is also an excellent thing to do when you have candida (if you have a white or yellow tongue, click here and scroll down to #8) 4. Scrape Your Tongue. It is often recommended that you brush your tongue along with your teeth, but I found that it is better to buy a tongue scraper, and scrape off any gunk, all the way to the back of your tongue, without gagging. This will get rid of bad breath, and along with a soap-cleaned toothbrush will keep your mouth cleaner than you can ever remember. 5. Start Flossing. I might sound like a nagging mom here, but too many people don't floss. You actually add an average of six years (!) to your life when you start flossing. This is basically a way to detox your system that too few people do. If you don't clean the food between your teeth each night, it will turn into toxins and give you poor mouth health. Eventually the toxins work their way throughout the whole body. Be sure to floss every night - I know it's a hassle, but it's worth your time.
