What is the Best Exercise for Health? Chances Are, You're Doing the Wrong Kind
Let's start right with the secret. The best exercise for health is... any kind that makes you out of breath. VERY out of breath. A moderate jog for 30 minutes won't do it. Instead, do intense exercise. When doctors check for risk of heart attack (this is something I agree with doctors on), what do they do? Answer: Put you on a treadmill and monitor your heart rate with a stress test. Imagine you regularly do intense exercise, just like the stress test. Wouldn't the test be a walk in the park? You and your heart would pass with flying colors. Doesn't that tell you right there that INTENSE exercise builds your heart? Click for Free How to Detox E-Zine and Free E-Book Yes, moderate long distance exercise for health has some benefits, and is much better than sitting on the couch. However, intense exercise for health is maybe a thousand times better than moderate. It makes it very, very unlike to have a heart attack (unless your diet is all wrong and you take lots of medication). It rebuilds your lungs and brings in vital oxygen that you have likely been missing. And, it burns fat way, way better than moderate exercise. Also, you don't have to spend as much time with it. Check out the Al Sears Pace program for more benefits, and to learn exactly what to do, and the science behind it. If you are older and haven't done intense exercise since middle school (or did they call it Junior High back then), START OUT SLOW. There is a reason it is called intense. The following are types of intense exercise that you should try out. If you don't love it, I don't even know what to say, because it is simply amazing and will keep you young looking, acting, and feeling.
1. Sprinting. This is my favorite, however if you are older, this is not the best exercise for health to do, or at least not the best to start with. It combines all of the above benefits with the added benefit of increased muscle mass. Click on the sprinting page for more info. 2. Jump Rope. This exercise might get your heart going faster than any other if you do it quickly. Again, don't overdo it. You might think it's as easy as a kid's game, but it's not easy - especially when done fast. 3. Walking/Jogging. If you are older or very out of shape, this is where you should start. Do a walk or jog for 30-60 seconds - just fast enough to get you out of breath (if you're not out of breath, try a little faster until you are). Then wait for your heart rate to go down. Then repeat once. Over a period of days, work up to 6 times (with breaks between each time). Then increase your speed when you are able. Other exercise (not intense): 4. Rebounding. I don't mean basketball here. I mean jumping on a small or medium size trampoline. Studies show that this gets your lymph system moving. When toxins/bacteria/viruses are first removed from your cells/organs for elimination, they go through your lymph system, which has glands all over your body, most noticeably in your neck. Have you ever felt swollen glands in your neck during a cold/flu? This means you are recovering because toxins are being flushed out. Rebounding will get your glands a little sore, which means you are actually detoxing. Therefore, rebounding is probably the best exercise for immediate detox. However, over the long term, sprinting/jump rope/jogging/walking in an intense fashion will also help to rid you of toxins and disease.
