Immune Detox - Avoid Colds and Flus Completely
Immune detox procedures are generally used to promote the healing of chronic conditions. However, I have found that certain techniques have helped me to never get acutely sick. I haven’t had a full-blown cold, flu, sore throat, or anything for over three years. Occasionally, I feel a little sniffle or the slightest bit of sore throat, but it never lasts for more than a few hours, because I can ramp my immune system into overdrive. Here are the ways I use to never get sick: 1. Wash your toothbrush: Every time I’m about to brush my teeth, I first wash my toothbrush. If you aren’t doing this, bacteria is staying on the brush and keeping you sick longer than you need to be. Simply take pump soap, squirt it on the brush, foam it up with your finger, and rinse it off well. Then brush. It takes 10-15 seconds and probably will save you days of sickness. This is not necessarily a detox, but it eliminates toxins from circulating in your body. 2. Change your pillowcase: Every other night, change your pillowcase. Each night that you don’t change it, flip it horizontally so that the part your face was touching the previous night is now closer to the headboard (or the wall). This is for the same reason as washing your toothbrush. All night long you are breathing on the pillow case. Why put your face on the same breathed-on section two nights in a row, and risk getting sick because of it? Once again, not really an immune detox, but a way to reduce toxins from entering your body. 3. Take antioxidants: Any time I feel the slightest hint of a sickness, I take 2,000-3,000 mg of vitamin C. This sounds like a lot, but is not all that much. Two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling recommended around 15,000 mg or more and no one had any negative effects from his recommendations. I also recommend taking more powerful antioxidants like SOD (superoxide dismutase) or Alpha Lipoic Acid in smaller doses. These are true immune detox therapies because they bind with free radicals and help to flush them from your body. 4. Drink a LOT of water: Most people will claim they always drink enough. It’s not enough when you feel a sickness coming. As soon as you feel the slightest bit sick, drink at least two tall glasses of water or four regular size glasses (28-32 oz. total). Keep your belly full of water until you no longer feel sick at all. If you do all four recommendations on this page, the sickness should pass in only a few hours, or several hours at the most.
